What many people may not know is that the gig economy is nothing new. In this episode, Aleka Thrash talks about growing up and watching her mother take on extra side-hustles in addition to both parents working full-time jobs. Aleka herself works full-time and runs multiple side-hustles as well. She hopes to build a solid retirement fund for her family, but more than that—she wants her role as an entrepreneur to be about giving back to the community.
